What is Vision Therapy?

2009-06-PWS-174vt.jpg   Vision therapy is a sequence of therapeutic activities that are individually prescribed and monitored by the doctor to develop the necessary visual skills.

The vision therapy program is based on the results of a very thorough evaluation, the patient’s specific signs and symptoms and the needs of the patient. Lenses, prisms, filters, patching, specialized instruments and
computer programs are used as part of our vision therapy program.

Typically, vision therapy is administered as a combination of in-office visits combined with prescribed, home-vision therapy procedures.

For additional information on vision therapy, read the position statement from the American Academy of Optometry: Optometric Care of the Struggling Student for Parents and Educators.
